Erin Soto has nearly 20 years of experience teaching math, including nearly 10 years in an online setting. As a math teacher at Calvert Academy, she enjoys making connections with her students, even at a distance.
“I enjoy helping students to better understand math,” she said. “I love when they have that lightbulb moment after receiving help.”
Mrs. Soto is a 5th generation native Nevadan. She was born in the capital city of Carson City, where she attended school and played several sports, including basketball, track and field, and tennis. Today, she lives in Reno. Her family appreciates the proximity to Lake Tahoe, which provides her husband and two kids endless fun year-round. As a family, they enjoy traveling, hiking, backpacking, lake sports, and relaxing. Mrs. Soto also admits that she has a passion for home decorating and design.
“It is not an inexpensive hobby,” she said, “but I sure love having a vision and seeing it become a reality in my home!”

Favorites: I love food! I am willing to try anything at least once! I have enjoyed trying all the foods around the world on my travels, but I would have to say my favorite is Thai food!

Most treasured possession: I love my water bottle with all the stickers of the places that make me happy.
