Having taught a multitude of positions and grade levels, Heidi Husbands has a wide variety of experiences in education. As an elementary teacher at Calvert Academy, she most enjoys talking with her online students to help them understand the subject matter being taught.
“The aspect of my work day I enjoy the most is interacting with the students, sharing ideas and encouraging them along the way,” she said. “I love when I get surprise voicemails from students, especially if they call to read me a poem!”
Born in the Pacific Northwest near Mt. Hood, she moved to Eastern Oregon for college. After 12 years, she moved back near Mt. Hood where she currently lives with her husband and her two children. In addition to taking care of animals on her hobby farm, she loves to travel and explore new places with her family.

Bucket list item: Be a stand-up comedian or a race car driver.
Unknown gem: I started a rugby team at my college. I played soccer and needed something for winter and teamed up with the football team to create a local rugby team that traveled and played other colleges.
